Songkran Holiday 2016 [Thailand]

Today is the first day of Songkran Holiday in Thailand, also in Myanmar and Cambodia. During the holiday from 13rd to 15th April, Thai people do not work, some of them go back their hometown, go to travel or just stay at home and relax.

I'm really impressed with their traditional colorful clothes, very like. Thai people wear these shirts everywhere that remind the atmosphere is coming to town.

Can't believe that I could have this chance take part in this holiday, not too much activities  (for me) but I actually feel strange and amazing.

colorful clothes everywhere

According to national tradition, Thai people often splash water to the others in order to wish for happiness. Anything that can hold water will be used such as: bowl, bucket, bottle...and water gun.
This activity attracts children, teenager and tourists join the crowds and shout and sing and splash...totally amazing.

water guns are sold everwhere
love this color
I love Thailand.

[One Piece] Luffy and Chopper.

One piece is one of my favourite Japanese cartoon series produced base on the same-name manga.
It talks about the adventures of captain Monkey D. Luffy named Straw Hat Pirates with his sailors on the way exploring the grand line in search of the world's ultimate treasure known as " One Piece".
His dream is become the next King of the Pirates.
He is a funny young man and very kind with everyone. Always smile and like eating. His character influences my way of life and my attitude facing with difficulties will come.

Luffy

Chopper is a doctor, also called Tony Tony Chopper as well as the youngest member on board.
Chopper ate a Devil Fruit that has turned him from a reindeer to many kinds afterward: person, devil as well.
Luffy met him at Drum Island and Chopper has become the sixth member of the crew.

my 2nd favourite member of the crew

Luffy and Chooper are very kind, honest, brave and cute. :)))

Bang Saen Beach (หาดบางแสน)

Bangsaen Beach (หาดบางแสน) is not a remote area as I thought at the beginning, the beach is famous to local people, especially Thai families but there are enough foreigners here, almost Japanese and French.

The seashore with golden sand streches quite long over 2km with coconut tree-lined road. It took me one hour wandering along the beach.

We have tasted the delicious seafood along the pavement beside the beach and enjoyed fresh air as well. It was such an enjoyable holiday of us. After 5pm, all the vendors must clear up the space for sort of mini-coffee cars at night.

I like this place much more than Pattaya because of its peace and quiet, that's why it has become the destination for locals rather than tourists.

The nightlife is more peaceful compared to any beaches I've been such as Pattaya or Phuket. We rent a mini 2-star hotel closed by the beach, only 5 minutes walking. There are reasonable accommodations along the beach with swimming pools or mini bars.

I was overwhelming with a lot of umbrellas and chairs along the beach, the sand is always clean and in high standard.
golden clean sand and long seashore until heaven
This town is home of young students of a university who often come to the beach to play activities after school time.

he might be a teacher

There is a sad love story about this town since 18th century about a couple who died to protect their love, Saen and Muk. The name Bang Saen has derived from his name and a destination Sam Muk hill has derived from her name.

I have felt pity because we just spent one night here, next time would be longer staying.

Long Hai Beach - Vung Tau, Vietnam

My only Indian friend in Vietnam, he love travelling and making new friends. So, I decided take him to Long Hai Beach, one of famous beach to local people.
^.^

Most tourists have chosen Vung Tau as their destination but It's quite far for 3 girls and 1 men driving motorbikes. That was why Long Hai was the best choice for us.
long trip for us

A peaceful town to visit during the week, not much people there. However, when weekend comes to town, it will loses its local character. Depend on your choice, peace or fun and crowds.
happy face as soon as setting food on the beach

There are beach venders wandering along the seashore to sell seafoods and souvenir at reasonable prices, not too pricey. A recommendation for you, should ask before buying if you do not want to be ripped off.
selling grilled cuttlefish

Most of the resorts or hotels are on the northeast of town, on the roud heading to Ho Tram. Of course, It will take more time.

On the way home, we run into a sudden rain, not a heavy rain but it turned cold afterward. Althought, we got lost at the beginning but after all we made it, spending one day come and go, such a memorable trip for us.
heading to Ho Chi Minh city

Doi Cat Bay [ Sand Dune] - Mui Ne, Vietnam.

Đồi Cát Bay in Mui Ne, Vietnam [ Đồi Cát means sand dune/hill; Bay means fly]. This name starts from its shape has changed every hour, every day and every month, it does not have stable shape.

The main color of the sand is red but you can see another colors depend on the weather, the temperature and your eyes, for example: white, pink, bright grey or grey red.. Scientists have listed around 18 colors.
If you go here in early morning, the sand should be orange as the pictures in this post.
Local people play sand-skateboard from the higher to the lower area , this game brings the joy for anyone who is interested in speed.

Beside that, they also celebrate off-road fest that attracts a lot of racers from many provinces and countries.
Welcome all friends to my country!

Cheers!

Asadang Pier - Koh Sichang

This is one of projects of Royal Palace in Koh Sichang and It has become my favourite places here in in the island.

Look at me, how beautiful  I am, lol.

I had the feeling as free as bird, thought about If I were a princess wandering in my own garden and waiting for my prince, would he come. hahaha

Better than any Tivi program

The clear sea under the pier made me felt " Ah, must see fishes here". And no surprise, flocks of fishes have been enjoying their paradise as the way I have been doing here.

listen to the nature, you will hear your heart's voice

This destination is the first place for tourists come and relax, feel the breath of air and enjoy a panorama of whole island from this pier.

Travel brings power, joy and love back to life.

If I have a chance, I will come here one more time for sure, although this is a small island but it's not a remote area. This paradise contains all what I really need for a holiday and refreshing activities.

don't be jealous of me ^.^

Summer Palace - Koh Sichang [เกาะสีชัง]

Koh Sichang island was used to belong to Thai Royal before it has become a tourist destination nowaday. This island might be the closest island to Bangkok, about 2 hours driving from town.

Koh Sichang is 8 square kilometers but there are enough material facilities including school, kindergarten, hospital and markets. But also, a lot of tourists go here every weekend.

There are not much trees in the big garden of palace, so I recommend bring water, hat and neccessary belongings with you, especially in summer days. Good health goes along with enjoyment anywhere you go.

In golden age, the palace has 4 villas, 14 halls and 1 magnificent pavilion surrounded by landscape gardens, small ponds, walkpaths and beautiful private beach.

However, since the conflict had happened between France and Thailand, the King decided to move palace to Bangkok where now is known Vimanmek Mansion - the largest teakwood building in the world.
There are still the constructions in the palace for visitors and local villagers.

From behind where I stand that was a huge palace, but still you can see the foundation of the old palace.

It is possible spending half day walking around the gardens and exploring many places in Palace area such as Bell Stone, Wat Asdangkhanimitir or Khao Noi View Point.
Walking on the paths can makes you tired under the sunny sky and without shadow of tree. So again, bring water and hat or anything can save you.

Bell Stone is a natural rock that looks like a frog. People say if you hit the Bell Stone with a rock, you might hear the sound as a bell. I am not sure about that because I tried many times without result but my friend made it. Lucky him.

From Bell Stone, there is Wat Asdangkhanimitir, just follow the path and direction.

After exploring Palace area, take a rest on the benchs next to the beach and feel the salty wind. Remember don't swim there. I don't think we are allowed swim there, it may be dangerous with rock and sharpen shells under the sea surface.

Hope you have a nice trip.
Cheers!

Wat Sothorn [วัดหลวงพ่อไสธร] - The most respected Buddhist temple in Thailand

On a summer day, I had a chance visiting the most revered pagoda in Thailand, it's located in Chachoengsao province. It took me 2 hours driving from Bangkok because of traffic jam, as always.

This is the most popular and important Buddihist temple in Thailand (especially to local Thai people), just stand behind Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok.
The temple is named Wat Sothorn, or Wat Sothorn Wararam Worawihan, and originally named "Wat Hong".
In legend, the Buddha image floated down the river. But the efforts to retrive that did not bring any success until villagers built a small temple beside the river and performed a ceremony welcoming the image to the town. It's such an interesting legend

Local people come here to pray for their life, then they will stick gold notes on the image to show their respect. Any Buddha image you see in the temple are now in gold cover.

Workshippers come from far all over Thailand, you can see the Thai dancers dress in Thai traditional custume who perform all day long for donation.

But, what was interesting to know is hard cooked eggs that workshippers bring to the temple. It has maybe started from the tradition in the past that no more people know. However, people whose wishes are granted or will be granted must present basket of hard cooked eggs to thank you.

Don't forget!
